QUEEN’S PARK – Marit Stiles, Leader of the Official Opposition NDP, released the following statement to mark Remembrance Day and honour our Canadian Armed Forces:
“Today we honour those who have dedicated their lives to serve fellow Canadians and those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms.
“As I wear my poppy, I am thinking of the sacrifices made by those who served and everything they did to protect the institutions we value the most as Canadians. I am thinking about the families who never got to say goodbye and the trauma that our veterans have lived with for so many years.
“This Remembrance Day I join all Canadians in taking time to reflect on the sacrifices and service of past, present, and future members of the Canadian Armed Forces. We owe them so much. Lest we forget.”

MPP Jennie Stevens, NDP critic for Veterans, Legions, and Military Affairs
“On Remembrance Day we take time to honour our service members – our grandparents, parents, children, and friends - who have given so much for our country. Through moments of reflection, we honour those who made the ultimate sacrifice, and we do this by protecting and providing the health care and public services that all veterans and Canadian Armed Forces members deserve. On this day and all days, we remember.”
